Do No Harm

Harm and harmony

Two different things

One is sweet like honey
The other can only sting

Yet all that humanity falls for

Is the one that can only scar
Confused and conflicted
They want some more
Violence instead of peace
All this confusion
Makes me want to shriek

Why can’t they understand

That this is no good for man?
Working to do no harm
Can only work as a charm

Shatter the Mirrors

Shatter the Mirrors
Priya Dixit

In our world of glass and metal
Surfaces shine beneath the sun
But for all of the reflections
We cannot easily see
Who we truly are

We bustle around
From when the sun dyes
The crumbling mountains
And until the jaws of night
Swallow the stars

We shakily lift mirrors to our faces
Telling ourselves that we see
Everything about ourselves
And we do
In the way parched vultures
Observe the strange depths
Of the sea

But we must hoist the mirror
And make peace with
Our faults
Foibles
Follies
Scattered across our faces
And also acknowledge
Strength
Surety
Security
In our glowing human countenance

To truly behold
Ourselves beyond our visage
Is to shatter the mirrors
And create an unblemished reflection
Of confidence and will
So that our doubts will be still.

Rythm

The sun rises in the east and sets in the west
The clock ticks and tocks
Rivers rush forward and wheels keep turning
Yet somehow you feel lost in midst of the rhythm
If you keep up with the trends
you feel suffocated by the pace
The mechanical cookie cutter print sears your imperfections
Let go of your inhibitions
Let go of your stiffness
Let go of your facade
The sun rises in the east and sets in the west
But you dance under the sun and make your own rhythm

Control

The more dependent you become,
The less virtues you will gain.
The more you do and less you think,
Will only lead to depression and forfeiture.

Therefore do not follow the governing source,
But learn to be one with yourself.
Approach your goal with wit and judgment,
And the path will show itself to you.

One who happily works under the hand of another
Is no more than a follower.
One who waits to be given instructions
Is no more than a pet.
One who stands firm to his beliefs
Is a role model to others.

Think clearly before you act.
Approach steadfast, but cautiously,
Be confident, but act humble,
Be firm, but flexible,
Advance forwards, but always retrace your steps,
Think thoroughly, but do not overthink.

Only through these values,
Will you be able to control your peace and meaning within.

Hard Work

Hard work is a virtue
One that encompasses our lives
Can you not become discouraged by challenges
But instead embrace them?

If you want to relax
First you must work
If you want to be successful
First you must struggle
If you want to be wealthy
First you must be poor

If you embrace the value of work
Then you can achieve your potential
Everybody is born with it
Few unlock it

Hard work is the key

Believe

Your goals should be unique
Your hard work should be valued
Stay true to who you are.

Know how to observe others
But also know how to observe yourself.
Don’t try to be him,
Don’t try to be her,
Lead your own resolute path.

Do not force your way out of an exit
Rather, force your way into an opening.
Stay, achieve, and conquer.
Let yourself surmount obstacles in the way.

Free yourself from surroundings
Free yourself from expectations
Once you are free, you will achieve.

Believe.

困难 (Difficulty)

In order to know all, you must forget everything.
In order to fly, you must fall.
In order to live, you must die.

The path to success is littered with defeat.
The path to prosperity is destitute.
The path to accomplishment is full of failures.

True wisdom seems foolish.
True success seems like defeat.
True happiness seems onerous.

Everything you will do will seem pointless.
Everything you will do will seem tedious.
Everything you will do will seem difficult.

Thus be reborn,
Live life according to your purpose,
Push past difficulty.
