Your goals should be unique
Your hard work should be valued
Stay true to who you are.
Know how to observe others
But also know how to observe yourself.
Don’t try to be him,
Don’t try to be her,
Lead your own resolute path.
Do not force your way out of an exit
Rather, force your way into an opening.
Stay, achieve, and conquer.
Let yourself surmount obstacles in the way.
Free yourself from surroundings
Free yourself from expectations
Once you are free, you will achieve.
I liked the style and rhythm of the poem and how similar it was to Tao's style. My favorite part was "Do not force your way out of an exit

ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed the dank simplicity and fresh structure of the poem. The simple yet important lesson resembles that of the Tao Te Ching. I can relate to this because I need to not "force" something out of an exit, but rather into an opening. This applies to my life because many times I do things just to get things done, but I should do it for a purpose.
This poem is very nice and gets the point across. Be yourself, don't try to be someone you are not.
ReplyDeleteI really liked this poem. I really think that you painted a picture of the message that you were trying to convey. My favorite line was, "Do not force your way out of an exit".
ReplyDeleteI really like the last stanza of your poem. I think it conveys the message of your whole poem and ties it all back to one main concept. I am sure everyone can relate to this idea of trying to believe in a goal we have our minds set on, and you put that thought into words nicely.
