Full Circle

We all start from the same place,
A single speck,
Unchanged,
Unmoved.

Until the world
Whispers its secrets.
And we change,
And we move.

We Leave our Path
Only to return to
The Start.

Look through a glass,
To only see
Our own Reflection.

Lost even though
We never
Acted,
We never
tried to do more.

The unspoken words
Choking us as we tremble in fear,
Becoming the monsters under our bed,
The Nightmare of our dreams.

We forget
That we are all the same
We forget that
You are me and I am You

That the curiosity
We were given
Was a gift to
Create
NOT
Destroy

Turning a blind eye
To the world we
Created

Ignorant,
Blind,
The Hypocrisy
Of Time

Until the day
We Look through the Glass
And the world comes
To a Full Circle

  1. I really enjoyed reading your poem. It is dramatic and has a rhythm to it. You applied the Tao te Ching poem style, conveying the message that humans are all the same and everything in this world is connected.

  2. I liked how well you related the title of your poem with the last line of your poem. It made your poem come "full circle" as well in a sense.

  3. I liked how you used a style very similar to that of the Tao and Taoist symbolism. The message your poem sent is also complex and relevant today.

  4. This is a really great poem! I love the perspective that we all start out the same, and how our experience through life shapes our experience. It has really great references to the Yin and yang aspect of life.
