Family
Who can you trust?
Your mother
Your father
Your brother
Your sister
The bonds of family are eternally strong
If you love
You will be loved
If you love your family
You will be infinitely loved
If you embrace that love
You will be eternally content
Family will forever forgive
Mistakes are upsetting
Family prevails to help
Sadness disappears when someone has your back
Family always does
Friendships change and die
Like a picked flower
It is fun for the day
But eventually it becomes a corpse
of something once beautiful
Family is like a sturdy sequoia
Evergreen
Never fading
Always colored strong and sturdy
Throughout life and its seasons
I liked how you used repetition in the second and third stanzas, and how you contrasted between friendship and family in the last two stanzas. It made your poem interesting to read.

ReplyDeleteI loved your similes and metaphors about the sequoia, the picked flower, and the corpse. They really help compare and contrast how fragile friendships are to how strong and steadfast family always is.
ReplyDeleteGood use of repetition, gives your poem a rhythm. I love how you compared family to nature, having its seasons. Enjoyed reading it! :)
